Directions to the Crystal Gateway Sport & Health club
1235 South Clark Street

Arlington, VA 22202
(703) 416-4900

Note: this is not an easy club to find, if you've never been there. If you have suggestions for improving these directions, please let us know. But, you can look at this map.

From points SOUTH of Washington
(From the southern side of the Capital Beltway (I-495) of Washington DC):

  • Take I-95 North towards Washington
  • At the Beltway interchange in Springfield, Take I-395 North towards Washington DC.
  • Take the Route 1/Pentagon city Exit (exit 8C) (The sign also says towards National Airport)
  • Continue straight at the light at the end of the off ramp to get on S. Hayes Street. Continue for two blocks.
  • Turn left onto S. 15th Street
  • Continue several blocks, passing underneath Route 1.
  • Bear to the left at the next stoplight to head down a one-way street. About 75 yards ahead, on the left, you'll see an underground parking garage, and a small sign for the Crystal Gateway club.
  • Enter the parking lot, pass underneath or thru the ticket machine, drive straight ahead, pass a small alcove of spots to the right and turn right at the first opportunity.
  • The entrance to the club is on the right, at the first point at which you can turn again in the garage.

From points NORTH of Washington
(From The north side of the beltway/Mont. County/points north of DC):

  • Take I-95 South towards Washington
  • At the Beltway interchange, take I-495 South towards Northern Virginia
  • Take the George Washington parkway (GW parkway) south towards DC just past the VA state line on 495
  • Follow the parkway for 15 miles or so until you see signs for I-395. However, do NOT take the 395-South signs that direct you towards the Pentagon...continue on the GW Parkway (follow signs that head towards route 1).
  • Take the GW parkway off ramp onto I-395 south.
  • Now, you have about a 1/4 of a mile to cross about 8 lanes of traffic on I-395 Southbound to get to the LEFT exit for Route 1 south. Its tough, but doable.
  • Merge left to the Route 1 exit, then take the first exit OFF of route 1, for 15th Street
  • Turn left onto 15th street, passing underneath Route 1.

Note: from I-95 southbound, you can take 295 into DC, take the New York Avenue exit, then make a left onto I-395 and continue through the city. As you pass the Jefferson Memorial, take the left Route 1 "exit," which dumps you on a separate lane. Continue till you exit onto route 1, then follow the directions above. However, we highly suggest you not take this route unless you're familiar with the streets of DC.

From the Crystal City Metro stop:

  • Turn right at the mall level and find signs says "Crystal Gateway" and continue until the hall ends at a T,

  • Turn left, toward the Marriott hotel

  • Take an immediate right down the Alley shops hall until the hall ends at a T,

  • Turn left, follow this long tulip flower wallpaper lined hall until you rise up to ground level

  • Continue on a short distance to the ATM in the hall,

  • Turn left, follow this hall a short distance until you have windows on your left, turn right into Sport & Health
    go down one level.
